What is a gospel movement?

A church planting movement (CPM) or disciple making movement (DMM) can be defined as “the multiplication of disciples making disciples and leaders developing leaders, resulting in indigenous churches planting churches which begin to spread rapidly through a people group or population segment.” Click here to read more about gospel movements.

Declare a Promise

Mathew 24:14 “And this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached throughout the world, so that all peoples will hear it; and then the end will come.”

Lord, on this last day of Ramadan, we cry out to you again and declare the truth of your promise that this Gospel of Your Kingdom shall be preached throughout the entire Muslim world: from Morocco to Indonesia. And in Lebanon, again, we proclaim: North and South, East and West, city and village, mountain and coast and valley: every family, village, town, region, and city in Lebanon shall hear the truth of the Gospel of Christ.

Prayer Theme: Ezekiel 37

37:1-3 “The Lord took hold of me, and I was carried away by the Spirit of the Lord to a valley filled with bones. He led me all around among the bones that covered the valley floor. They were scattered everywhere across the ground and were completely dried out. Then he asked me, ‘Son of man, can these bones become living people again?'”

  1. Feel the utter hopelessness of Lebanon’s situation
  2. Confess the sheer impossibility of a valley of dry bones coming back to life
  3. Grieve, for a few moments, one of the following themes: the port explosion of 2020, government corruption, economic collapse, infrastructure disorder, chaos, extreme poverty and hunger, violent politics

37:4, 7-8  Then he said to me, “Speak a prophetic message to these bones and say, ‘Dry bones, listen to the word of the Lord!’ Suddenly as I spoke, there was a rattling noise all across the valley. The bones of each body came together and attached themselves as complete skeletons. Then as I watched, muscles and flesh formed over the bones. Then skin formed to cover their bodies, but they still had no breath in them.

  1. Declare, in faith, that the dry bones of Lebanon would listen to the word of the Lord. Declare it!
  2. Ask for a release of intercession, prayer, and prophecy over the believers in Lebanon, that we would be equipped ‘to speak’ the word of the Lord into the dry bones around us
  3. Give thanks for God’s work that’s already begun, but petition God for the fullness of breath and life to be released into this nation

37:9-10 “Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds! Breathe into these slain bodies so they may live again.’ So I spoke the message as he commanded me, and breath came into their bodies. They all came to life and stood up on their feet—an exceedingly great army.

  1. Prophesy that what was dead may live again. Speak life into one of the following dead aspects of Lebanon: economy, politics, infrastructure, traditional religion, sectarianism, or justice system
  2. Release into Lebanon the breath of the Spirit, that these dry bones would live, and that they would become an exceedingly great army. Do not just pray that nice little things would happen in Lebanon; declare, in line with principles of scripture, that God will do through this nation abundantly more than we could dare ask or imagine

37:11-14 “Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones represent the people of Israel. They are saying, ‘We have become old, dry bones—all hope is gone. Our nation is finished.’ Therefore, prophesy to them and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O my people, I will open your graves of exile and cause you to rise again. Then I will bring you back to the land of Israel. When this happens, O my people, you will know that I am the Lord. I will put my Spirit in you, and you will live again and return home to your own land!’”

  1. Ask that a hopeless people, whose nation is finished, would be restored to hope
  2. Pray fervently that God, in a sovereign act of liberation, would open the graves of exile and sin and death, causing the Lebanese to rise again
  3. Ask that God would bring the Lebanese back to life, putting his Holy Spirit in them, that they could live again

34:15-16 “I myself will tend my sheep and give them a place to lie down in peace, says the Sovereign Lord. I will search for my lost ones who strayed away, and I will bring them safely home again. I will bandage the injured and strengthen the weak. But I will destroy those who are fat and powerful. I will feed them: yes, I will feed them justice!

Declare that Lebanon’s time is now: that the Good Shepherd will grant his sheep green pasture, the grace to lie down in peace; that He will seek and save the lost ones who have strayed; that He will deliver them safely home again; that He will bandage their injuries and heal their infirmities; and that, at last, He would destroy the rulers and principalities that wreak destruction on this land and its people. God: grant our land justice!!

No Place Left

Each day, we pray for various regions of Lebanon, believing in faith that a disciple making movement will touch each and every community throughout the nation.

Today, pray by name for the main cities and areas of Lebanon.

Akkar : Tripoli : Beirut : Saida : Tyre : Nabatiyeh : Baalbeck : Bekaa : Mount Lebanon : Chouf

Prayer

Lord, we lift our voice together one last time. Thank you for these 30 days of prayer for our brothers and sisters in Lebanon. And today, Lord, we remember our brothers and sisters across the whole Muslim world, and we declare:

The Good News that Christ, and not Ceasar, reigns as Lord and Ruler of the Cosmos: it shall be shared in Mecca.

The announcement that God’s Annointed, Jesus, rules as King: it shall be shared in Baghdad.

The declaration that Christ has thrown down death and conquered the grave of exile: it shall be shared in Cairo.

From Lybia and Tunisia to Somalia and Sudan, from the islands of Indonesia to the mountains of Pakistan, from India to Iran, from the Gulf countries to the Levant and to Turkey, and through all the war-torn towns, cities, and villages of Afghanistan, Yemen, and Syria: the good news of the Saving Grace of Jesus our Lord shall be preached…shall be spread…shall be incarnated into the world by followers of Jesus, and men and women and children and whole families shall be baptized into the community of saints, and they shall be filled with the presence and power of God’s indwelling Holy Spirit.

And then the end will come.

And finally, the Lamb of God shall receive the full reward of His suffering…in and for the Muslim world..to the great glory and praise of God. And His children shall come, at long last, running home.

Amen
