Our Treasure in Jesus

God, we love you! As your Church, help us do what it takes to let the people of Tunisia grasp the Good News that we receive grace IN Christ! (1 Corinthians 1:4)

Pray for a Tunisian Believer

Y accepted Jesus when his friend SB shared with him. He has seen the example of SB and now shares with other students. He is also sharing with his family. Pray that Y will begin to gather these students into groups to study the Word of God together. Though he is a new believer, pray that God will help him mature and use him to reach those around him.

Prayer for Boldness

“For we who have believed enter that rest, as he has said, “As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest,’” although his works were finished from the foundation of the world.” (Hebrews 4:3 ESV).

Creator God, your work of drawing every nation on earth to yourself was finished from the foundation of the world. (Hebrews 4:3) May the glory of your finished work and your eternal wisdom flood the church in Tunisia with boldness and satisfaction with all that you’ve done, are doing, and will do among all the tribes and tongues of Tunisia and the whole earth.

Pray for a Segment of Society

European converts to Islam – “Wow, if I had only known this twelve years ago…” her Germanic accented English trailed off as she responded to her Christian friend who had just shared her testimony of living and active faith in Jesus. They watched as their children played together happily, nattering away in Arabic, the language of Olga’s now-beloved Qur’an, which she admittedly still needed a German translation to understand. Olga is not unique in her journey of finding a new path in the world of Islam. Post-Christian Europe offers less and less for the spiritually hungry who long to make sense of their own broken pasts. Many Europeans find their North African partners on a beach vacation, drawn in by the warm relational culture, more conservative family values, and the appearance of faith in… well, anything, really. Olga bought the whole package and is now proudly the most conservative Muslim woman in her husband’s massive extended family. It often isn’t long before the surface-level pleasantries and virtuous veneer begin to fade, revealing the same sinful human condition that has plagued every culture under the sun since the dawn of time. All the rules and measurable goals on the path of earning your way to paradise feel suddenly impossible and falling short becomes the depressing new normal. Pray earnestly for this lesser-known demographic of Tunisia—foreign spouses, many of whom are converts to Islam—that they would see the futility of Islam and search earnestly, alongside their Tunisian friends and family members, for Jesus.
