Our Treasure in Jesus

God, we love you! As your Church, help us do what it takes to let the people of Tunisia grasp the Good News that Jesus brought the message of the Kingdom of Heaven being at hand! (Matthew 4:17)

Pray for a Tunisian Believer

T has 2 kids, is 35 years old, and is divorced. T’s husband tried to force her to wear the Islamic veil and wanted her to be a religious zealot. One day, a stranger gave T’s mother a Bible. T read the New Testament and was so drawn to the story that she accepted Christ. Now, her siblings are reading with her as well. Pray for God’s grace, that each person in T’s family will accept Christ and that they will be a body of believers that encourage one another—a church.

Prayer for Boldness

“O our God, will you not execute judgment on them? For we are powerless against this great horde that is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”” (2 Chronicles 20:12 ESV).

Father God, you see the hopelessness and the brokenness that surrounds and threatens your church in Tunisia. You see how the enemy steals and destroys. And we ask that in the midst of the incomprehensible and insurmountable brokenness, you would revive and strengthen your followers in Tunisia that they might say with your Word, “we do not know what to do, but our eyes on you, Lord.” (2 Chronicles 20:12).

Pray for a Segment of Society

Trafficked domestic workers- Wafa could hardly make eye contact with her guests as she shakily served up tiny thimble-sized cups of sweet, strong coffee. Her body was tired and worn out but she was grateful that despite all she’d been through, she was able to marry a plastic bottle collector and have two children, even if she was older by the time she’d been able to find her freedom. “I have struggled to forgive my mother,” confessed Wafa’s friend, “How could she have done that? Who sells their child as a bond servant?” These two women, now mothers themselves, cannot imagine the desperation, greed, or lack of attachment a parent could have to drive them to ship off their young daughters from their impoverished but peaceful rural lives to become live-in servants for wealthy Tunisian families in the capital. These two women ended up in homes where they were respected and kept somewhat safe, but many others are less fortunate and suffer all sorts of abuse. Pray for a stop to the ugly ring of human trafficking that continues to thrive in this country. Pray that Jesus would meet these new young girls as well as older women who’ve known this way of life their whole lives.
