What is a gospel movement?

A church planting movement (CPM) or disciple making movement (DMM) can be defined as “the multiplication of disciples making disciples and leaders developing leaders, resulting in indigenous churches planting churches which begin to spread rapidly through a people group or population segment.” Click here to read more about gospel movements.

Declare a Promise

Psalm 72:11 “May all kings fall down before him, and may all the Lebanese serve him!”

Lord, we declare today that every ruler and authority, every ‘king’ and ‘queen’, every billionaire and millionaire in Lebanon, and every politician and influencer: all will fall before you and declare that Jesus is Christ and Lord. Today, over Lebanon, we let this declaration ring out: all Lebanese will bow down before him. From every corner. From every neighborhood. From every class. From every background. We prophesy, Lord, that this nation will fall before you and serve you in glad worship and full obedience. What was crooked will be straight; what was low will be lifted; what was lost will be found; and what was dead….

Lord, by your word and your word alone

What was dead will come back to life.

Today, we speak to Lebanon: Live! In the name of Jesus, Live!

Today’s Movement Themes: WWW

  1. Word of God Spreading Rapidly
  2. Wonders to Confirm the Preaching of God’s Word
  3. Workers for the Harvest Fields

A recommended song as you pray through these themes: The Fields Have All Turned White

Word of God Spreading Rapidly

Ask that God’s word would spread rapidly throughout Lebanon, being honored wherever the word of God is shared. Pray that a sense of urgency would come upon believers, old and new alike, to share this gospel of the Kingdom with all. As the Samaritan woman in John 4 quickly shared with her village and introduced them to Jesus, Lord: may new people of peace spread your gospel message to new communities, and may this happen now, during this month, during Ramadan.

Pray that leaders would find other leaders who would be able to pass on what they have received to still others. In this way, Jesus’ prayer in John 17 would be fulfilled: I am praying not only for these disciples but for all who will ever believe in me through their message.

Scriptures to Pray

2 Thes 3:1Pray that the Lord’s message will spread rapidly and be honored wherever it goes, just as when it came to you.

2 Tim 2:2 “You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.”

Wonders to Confirm the Preaching of God’s Word

Intercede on behalf of Christ’s followers in Lebanon, that their testimony about Jesus would be confirmed by God’s power working through miraculous signs and wonders. Lord, we need your power, not just our words! We need your living power, the same power that conquered the grave and raised Christ Jesus from the dead, the same power that delivered God’s people out from the clutches of Pharaoh’s brick-laying, back-breaking empire, the same power that created all that we see and all that we don’t: this power, this life force, cannot be denied! Holy Spirit of God, when your people pray, come in power; when they preach the word, come in power; when they face opposition, come in power; when they feel weak, come in power; when they stand before crowds, come in power; when they weep with the lonely, come in power; when they fast, come in power; and when they live and love, surround them at all times by your confirming, world-changing power.

Scriptures to Pray

Acts 2:43A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders.

Mark 16:17-20These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” When the Lord Jesus had finished talking with them, he was taken up into heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked through them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs.

Rom 15:19 “By the power of signs and wonders, and by the power of God’s Spirit, thus I have fully preached the gospel of the Anointed.”

Workers for the Harvest

Ask that Jesus, the Lord of the Harvest, would release more workers into his fields in Lebanon. And pray that these workers would come from the harvest. In Lebanon, we need more Lebanese workers: for the Shiites, we need Shiites. For the Druze, we need Druze. For the Sunnis, we need Sunnis. And for the Christian, we need Christian. Pray that workers from the same background as the harvest would be sent into the fields to sow and to reap, and ask that laughter would be granted to the sower as well as great joy for the reaper. Amen!

Scriptures to Pray

Luke 10:2-12These were his instructions to them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields. Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.

John 4:35-36You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest. The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!”

No Place Left

Each day, we pray for various regions of Lebanon, believing in faith that a disciple making movement will touch each and every community throughout the nation.

Today, pray by name for the following neighborhoods of West Beirut.

Hamra : Manara : Ras Beirut : Ein Mreisseh : Rouche : Kareitem : Verdun : Ein el Tiin : Talat Khayat

Prayer

Father, hear our cries. Rend the heavens and come down. Your arm, O Mighty One, is not too short that it cannot save. Rise, O Mighty One, to show compassion. A bruised reed you never break, and a smoldering wick you never snuff out. O Father! Lebanon is bruised, and Lebanon is smoldering. Lord have mercy; Christ have mercy. Come and do miracles today in Lebanon. Raise the dead. Save the nation. Spread your fame. Transform this people. Recreate us.

Amen
