Our Treasure in Jesus

God, we love you! As your Church, help us do what it takes to gladden the hearts of your people in Tunisia as they understand that Jesus completely and perfectly made purification for sin and then sat down at the right hand of Majesty! (Hebrews 1:3-4)

Pray for a Tunisian Believer

R is 34 years old and loves Jesus. Growing up as a Muslim, he was not satisfied. Recently he began reading the Bible and accepted Christ. During this time, he began to pray for a miracle in his life. His leg was badly wounded, and he could barely stand or walk. The Lord provided a wonderful desk job with a great salary. This miracle was evidence of God’s provision. R has been sharing with friends and co-workers, but he fears his boss. Pray that God will give R boldness to share his testimony with those around him.

Prayer for Boldness

“So Peter was kept in prison, but earnest prayer for him was made to God by the church.” (Acts 12:5 ESV).

When the church in Tunisia is persecuted, and even when followers of Jesus are imprisoned, may the church be drawn into earnest, persevering prayer. (Acts 12:5) Lord Jesus, deepen the faith and sustain the dependent prayers of the church in Tunisia.”

Pray for a Segment of Society

Educators – “Silence!” Madame Noura shouted as she wrapped the wooden ruler hard against the chalkboard. Nervous little feet scurried back to their desks as the teacher started writing down their Arabic to be copied into notebooks—only a few more weeks til exams. Madame Noura was grateful the dozens of students could only see her back as she wrote, blinking back tears. How have I come to this point? She wanted to blame the corruption in the school administration, the government’s meager salaries, the favoritism the other teachers displayed to students who were from their village or tribe, the outdated or absent materials, the lack of parental support. That was part of it, for sure, but she knew that last week’s incident where she slapped a student was indicative of even deeper problems…

Though corporal punishment is still a normal practice, she knew, That’s not me! I’m a good teacher! I love my students and my job! But who was she kidding, she thought as she wiped a tear away with the corner of her headscarf, since her son’s death a few years ago, things just hadn’t been the same. Unable to cope with his grief nor understand hers, her husband was threatening to leave her and their other two kids. It was all just too much and felt like hopelessness at every turn. Pray for educators across Tunisia, the vast majority of whom entered their profession to make a real difference in their beloved society. Pray that their professional and personal lives would be blessed by the greatest Teacher of all time, and that transformed teachers would powerfully impact the next generation!
